Micro-Needling
Micro-needling - Improving The Appearance Of Your Skin
Micro-needling is a cosmetic procedure that stimulates collagen production in your skin. Why is this a benefit? Increased collagen can improve the appearance of scars, including acne scars, fine lines, and those little wrinkles you notice every morning. Micro-needling can also help with uneven skin tone, skin elasticity, and reduces the appearance of stretch marks.
How does Micro-needling work?
We use a device with extremely fine sterilised needles to create tiny punctures in your skin. As your body repairs these micro-injuries, it produces fresh collagen-rich skin, which can be smoother in tone, firmer, and have improved elasticity. All benefits for looking and feeling younger and fresher.
What are the side effects?
As with many procedures, there can be side effects. If you have a skin condition like eczema or psoriasis, active acne, or a history of keloid scarring, then this may not be a suitable treatment for you. We always ensure you have a consultation before any procedure to ensure you get the best treatment for you.
If you have sensitive skin, you may experience some discomfort during the micro- needling procedure. A topical anaesthesia can be applied to minimise this if needed. Again, with sensitive skin, you may have some redness and swelling immediately afterwards. Normally this is a temporary effect that will disappear after a few days.
There is a risk of infection due to the micro-injuries. We carry out out procedures in a clinical-like environment, and we ensure our environment and equipment are all properly sanitised by a trained professional.
